Ragdoll Cats are Intelligent, Affectionate, Calm, Quiet, very alert and love to play.
Ragdolls have a medium long fur that normally doesn't mat and shedding is minimal. The kittens are born white and only have blue eyes. They do not reach full body color and weight until they are 2 to 3 years old. Neutered males can weigh 15 to 20 pounds and spayed females weigh about 5 pounds less.
Ragdolls love for you to hold, hug, and handle them alot.
Ragdolls are very loyal and like to be with their owners and share in whatever you are doing.
Ragdolls are very smart and some can be taught to fetch, shake hands, roll over, and sit up and beg.
Ragdolls, once they are comfortable with you, can relax completely and go limp in your arms if they wish.
Ragdoll voices are very quiet with soft meows.
Ragdolls must be kept indoors, because they do not inherently have fighting instincts.
Ragdolls are patient with other cats, dogs, and children and love to make themselves quite at home.
Traditional Colors
Seal- dark brown points on a cream body
Blue- gray points on a light cream or very light gray body
Chocolate- milk chocolate points on an ivory body. Paws and nose leather are cinnamon chocolate color.
Lilac- frosty grayish pink(actually a mushroom color) points on a white body. Paw pads and nose leather are a lavender pink color.
Contemporary Colors
Lynx point- points in the tabby pattern . Lynx can be present on any color.
Red point- orange points on a cream white body
Cream point- very light peach points on a white body
Seal Tortie point- seal & orange mottled points on a cream body
Blue Tortie point- gray& peach mottled points on a light cream body
Patterns
Color Point-point colors on tail, face, ears, and feet
Mitted- same as pointed, except with white mitts, boots, chin and underside. A blaze on the forehead/nose is allowed.
Bicolor- have an inverted "V" on their face, filled in with white, a white chin and underside, and white legs. Their tails, ears, and part of their eyes are dark and their backs are usually cream colored.
